Last week, our colleague Una Danilović, legal advisor at YUCOM (Lawyers’ Committee for Human Rights) and member of the Human Rights House Belgrade, took part in the Advocacy Training Programme organized by the Human Rights House Foundation (HRHF) in Strasbourg.
The training gathered human rights defenders from across the Network of Human Rights Houses, aiming to strengthen their advocacy skills and build capacities for more effective engagement with the Council of Europe and its bodies. Participants had the opportunity to learn how to bring forward key human rights challenges from their respective countries and discuss strategies for promoting democratic standards and protecting fundamental freedoms.
After the training, Una emphasized the importance of her experience: „I was excited to learn the mechanisms through which CSOs can engage with the Council of Europe, equipping me with valuable resources for my future advocacy work and the activities of my organization.”
The programme is supported by the Council of Europe, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland, and it represents an important step in connecting civil society actors with European institutions.
By taking part in this initiative, the Human Rights House Belgrade continues to strengthen its role in international advocacy, ensuring that the voices of those fighting for human rights in Serbia are present and recognized on the European stage.
