Lead applicant: Human Rights House Belgrade

This project aims to support the European Union’s (EU) integration process in the Western Balkans (WB) by strengthening cooperation between EU member states and WB candidate countries. It focuses on enhancing regional collaboration among civil society organizations, advancing human rights, democracy, and the rule of law within the EU accession framework. The initiative addresses the lack of regional cooperation and exchange, fostering advocacy, capacity building, and cross-border dialogue to ensure progress in meeting EU standards and improving human rights across the WB region.

The project’s activities are designed to directly support the aim of enhancing regional cooperation and advocacy for human rights, the rule of law, and democracy within the EU accession framework for the Western Balkans. By organizing coordination meetings, roundtables, and conferences, the project fosters exchange among civil society organizations and key stakeholders, ensuring a shared understanding of the EU integration challenges. The advocacy efforts, including the production of an analytical paper and a high-level advocacy trip to Brussels, aim to strengthen the capacity of the Regional Network of the Human Rights Houses and raise awareness for a regional approach to the EU accession process, contributing to meaningful progress in human rights advocacy.
