On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, an informative event dedicated to women’s rights in gynecological-obstetric clinics was held at the premises of MHD “Merhamet-Sandžak” in Novi Pazar. The event brought together female students, activists, future mothers, and women from the local community who are actively engaged with this topic.
In a safe and supportive atmosphere, participants had the opportunity to learn more about the most common procedures during pregnancy and childbirth, the importance of being informed, and the right to consent, as well as ways to seek free legal assistance in cases of rights violations.
The event was led by experts in women’s rights, who used practical examples and answers to participants’ questions to clarify key aspects of practices in gynecological-obstetric clinics.
A similar event was held in Belgrade earlier last month, aimed at empowering and educating women about their rights during pregnancy and childbirth, as well as raising awareness of the importance of being informed in various parts of the country.
These events are part of a broader effort to inform women across Serbia about their rights during treatment and stays in healthcare facilities, as well as to encourage open dialogue about their experiences and the challenges they face.
The activities are funded by the Human Rights House Foundation.
